TORRANCE, Ca. – (October 11, 2011) – Phiten®, the innovator and original maker of the titanium necklace and precious metal-infused wellness products, announced a new endorsement deal with Derrick Williams, making the Minnesota Timberwolves’ forward an official Phiten brand ambassador.
Williams joins fellow NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Eric Gordon, and Chris Bosh as an official Phiten athlete. A former star athlete for University of Arizona (UofA), he was the #2 draft pick for the 2011 NBA Draft. He was a member of the 2010-2011 PAC 10 Championship team in Arizona and was awarded the 2011 PAC 10 Conference Player of the Year. During his time at UofA he received several notable awards including 2011 NCAA West Regional All-Tournament Team, 2010 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and 2010 First Team All-Pac-10. He was also a finalist for the 2011 John R. Wooden National Player of the Year Award and 2011 Oscar Robertson Trophy. Derrick joins a young and athletic Minnesota Timberwolves team, and will look to contribute immediately.
“I have been following Phiten and learning about their products for a while now,” said Williams. “When I make my NBA debut this season in Minnesota, you can be sure I’ll have my Phiten on. I’m excited to be a part of Team Phiten.”
“Derrick is going to make a great addition to the Phiten team,” said Joe Furuhata, public relations and marketing manager of Phiten USA. “We are continuing to expand our presence in the NBA thanks to the talents of Williams, Gordon, Bosh, and Anthony.”
